Fiercely photogenic / Season 2
In the second season of the ‘Fiercely photogenic’ series, we would once again like to present 5 photographers who work with animals in an artistic context. How can the animal be depicted not only as a simply beautiful motif, which in itself has a strong emotional and visually powerful force, but as a work of art? What dimensions do photographers explore when they capture more than just the animal with their camera? What do they want to convey to us and how difficult is it to actually work with animals if you want to follow a certain concept in terms of content? Five positions that couldn't be more different. It's about the intimate connection between humans and animals, the emotional rapprochement. It's about the very personal question of how to deal with the death of one's own beloved pet. It's about how funny animals can be when they feel unobserved or what happens when they are staged in such a way that an animal suddenly becomes completely human and makes us laugh. Animals touch and move us. The series shows artistic works that are far removed from being categorised as classic animal photography. Pictures that touch, that make us think, but that also amuse and capture their audience as an aesthetic moment.
